Rābiʻa al-ʻAdawiyya al-Qaysiyya was female Muslim Sufi saint. She was born in 95 A.H. in Basra, Iraq. She made one of the greatest contributions towards the development of Sufism. She was a teacher of women as well as of men. Her reputation excels that of many Muslim men within the early days of Sufism.
