Let,

lion= x and Parrot= y 

Lion and parrot have one head so:

x+y= 15 ….. ( i )

Lion has four legs and Parrot has two legs so:

4x+2y= 50 ….( ii )

multiply equation ( i ) by two and Subtraction from ( ii ) 

4x+2y – 2x-2y= 50-30

⇒ x= 4 

so,

lion = 10
