After defeating Gujrat ruler, Akbar conquered Ahmednagar in 1573. Akbar had now defeated most of the Afghan remnants in India. The only centre of Afghan power was now in Bengal. The ruler of Karrani dynasty, Sulaiman Khan Karran, avoided to fight with Akbar. When Sulaiman’s son Daud Khan became emperor, he tried to fight with Akbar. Daud khan lost Patna in 1574 and fled to Bengal.
